December 2015 Kindergarten News
December Kindergarten
News
Dear Families,
Our main theme throughout the month of December
will be Winter. We will be doing many
Christmas activities (including creating
some special crafts), and will be busy practicing our songs for the Christmas
Concert. We will also learn about other
celebrations that happen throughout the world in December.
Thank you very much to the families who came out
for our student-led conferences, and to the families who have contacted me to
book an alternate time for a conference.
If there is anyone who would still like to book a conference time,
please contact me as soon as possible so we can find a time that works for all
of us (afrye@sjsd.net).
The Sansome School Christmas Concert (for Kindergarten,
Grade 2 and Grade 3) will be on Wednesday, December 16th.
A.M. student information- The morning kindergarten
students will have the opportunity to perform at all 3 performances- the
morning dress rehearsal, the afternoon performance (1:30 p.m.) and then again
in the evening (7:00 p.m.). Following
the afternoon performance, the MORNING kindergarten students will go to room 35
(at the top of the stairs in the main hallway). Of course, if you would like to attend the
entire concert, you are welcome to do this.
Your child will have had an opportunity to attend the dress rehearsal in
the morning on December 16th, so if you choose to stay for the show,
please leave your child in Room 35. If
you chose to leave the performance, please pick your child up in Room 35.
The morning kindergarten students will be
dismissed as usual for lunch, and then will meet in our classroom (Room 12) at
1:15 p.m. for the afternoon performance. For the evening performance, all kindergarten
students will meet in the classroom between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m.
P.M. student information- The afternoon students
will perform at 2 performances- the afternoon concert (1:30 p.m.) and then
again in the evening (7:00 p.m.) Following
the afternoon performance, the afternoon students will return to the classroom
until the regular dismissal time.
All students-
Kindergarten students are being asked to dress in “nice” holiday
clothing for the afternoon and evening performances.
At
the afternoon and evening concerts, the kindergarten students will present
first. There will be a break between the Kindergarten performance and the Grade
2 and 3 performance, when parents are invited to leave and pick up your child. All kindergarten children will gather in our
regular kindergarten classroom following the evening performance. Please let me know if somebody other than a
parent will be picking up your child following any of the performances.
Classroom doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. Parents waiting to drop their child off in
their classroom are asked to gather in the hallway outside the office until the
classroom doors are open. As we will be
performing first at the concert, please ensure your child is in the classroom
by 6:45 p.m. at the very latest so we can prepare for our performance.
